Hello friends ~~
This July, my friends Goosullae, Cura, Pauline, Janice and I are coming to Stockroom Kyneton for our show “Here, there, and here again”.
I’d love for you to join us for our opening 4-6PM 20Jul (Sat). There will be great art among some great companies.

“ In the thesaurus, there are 28 different definitions for the word “time.” There are only 8 stages to a person’s lifespan.
In time, you leave home. In time, you trade childhood for adulthood. In time, you return to home that’s been exchanged for something you barely recognise, eroded. In time, on yet another trip to the airport, you’re bloated with despair. In time, you become intimate with melancholy, like you’re constantly longing for something that’s not there anymore.
Yet, with enough time, the displaced find the sense of the familiar in their new home. Here becomes there, and there becomes here again.
Life is a pre-existing condition.
Where we are, who we are, is only temporary, mere debris of living.
But objects? They will probably last beyond our transient existence in this place. Perhaps this is why we craft vessels. So when we disappear, fragments of us can remain.
And maybe someone can map our entire being from the residue.”
It’s been 2 years since my friends and I first conceived the idea of this show together. Our works are made in response to time. We all share slow, highly involved, methodical practices, informed by the repeated exercise of paying close and constant attention to the small, inconsequential questions that the work elicits and attempting to resolve them, one after the other.
For “Here, there, and here again”, we have crafted pourers, vases and sculptures that signify a library of our collected experiences. The vessels are finite containers of intimate memories, using clay as the primary medium, formed with traditional techniques, and guided by contemporary surface treatments.
“Here, there, and here again” will run from 20th July to 25th August at Stockroom Kyneton.
I can’t wait see your beautiful faces there.
